About the Armour

STRONG
Plastic armour does not rust, rot, soften, or dent. The plastic I exclusively use is high density polyethylene (HDPE). I like HDPE for its impact resistance and strength. HDPE is less likely to shatter than ABS or other super rigid plastics. Complex curves are vacuum-formed, rather than cut and bent, maximizing their strength.

PROTECTIVE
High density polyethylene has excellent force-dispersal properties, making it an ideal material for armour making. All armour meets or exceeds SCA society minimums.

CUSTOM
Where possible, I ask for relevant measurements from my clients, to ensure proper fit. I custom build much of my armour to your specifications. I offer sizes for convenience, but your measurements are vital to ensure proper fit.
About Me
I'm Trent Fehr. I'm a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval re-creation group. In the SCA I'm called Ivar the Black. I make lightweight, durable armour that is meant to be hidden under clothing or covered in leather or fabric. I have been doing this since around 2005, so my process is mature and reliable. I have been fighting in armour since 1990, so I know what works. I put a "u" in armour because I live in Canada, and that's just how we spell it.
For me, armouring is my off-hours gig. It’s a side-hustle for me, meant to help pay for my expensive medieval recreation hobby. The armour you’re ordering is hand made, all by me. I have been refining my patterns and processes for decades, so I have confidence and pride in the armour I build.
