It has been a long time since I wrote a blog post. I guess that's the problem with being too busy; no time for much of anything else but building armour ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Be that as it may, I have managed to spend a little time doing other things. I have had several customers request that I ship their bazubands unstrapped or unassembled, mostly because they want to cover them in leather, fabric, or paint. Other folks may want to use their own strapping system. Whatever the reason, that's the driver behind Plasticsmith Armoury's newest product, the Bazuband Kit.
This kit comes in various configurations, and strapping styles, but always comes unassembled. This option is a little cheaper than assembled bazubands, so long as you are willing to put a little assembly time in. I will pre-drill the holes in the plastic, so all you need are basic riveting skills, and a few tools:
- rivets - I use 3/8" long, number 10 copper rivets and burrs
- a hammer - ball peen works best
- an anvil - something heavy to rivet on
- an awl - used for working holes into the webbing straps
As for assembly, we have you covered there as well. The video below shows you step-by-step how to put your bazubands together. Enjoy!
