A Quick Note About Pricing for Our U.S. Customers

Hey everyone,

I wanted to jump on here and explain a change you might have noticed if you're shopping from the United States; prices for American customers are now reflecting the new Section 338 tariffs on Canadian imports.

For those who haven't been following the news (no judgment, it's a lot), Section 338 tariffs are additional duties now being applied to goods crossing the border from Canada into the Unites States. Since Plasticsmith Armoury ships from Canada, that means the products you're ordering are now subject to these extra costs on their way to you.

I want to be upfront about this rather than just quietly bump prices and hope nobody notices. So here's the deal: I've adjusted U.S. pricing on the site to account for these tariffs. It's not a markup for the fun of it, and it's definitely not something I'm happy about. It's simply the added cost of getting your order across the border under the new rules.

I deeply regret having to pass this along to you. Plasticsmith Armoury is a small operation; it's just me back here running things and I don't have the kind of margin to just absorb a new tariff and pretend it isn't happening. Doing that isn't sustainable for a small business, and the last thing I want is to have to stop shipping to the U.S. over it. So instead, I've done my best to adjust things as fairly and transparently as I can.

A few things worth knowing:

  • This change only affects pricing for orders shipping to the U.S. Canadian customers, your pricing hasn't changed because of this.
  • The adjustment reflects the actual added cost from the tariffs, I'm not using this as an excuse to pad prices further.
  • If tariff rates change again down the road (and who knows, they might), I'll do my best to keep pricing updated and keep you in the loop here on the blog.

I know nobody likes seeing prices go up, and I appreciate every single one of you who keeps supporting a small Canadian shop despite all this cross-border chaos. It genuinely means a lot.

If you have any questions about pricing, shipping, or anything else, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm always happy to explain exactly what you're paying for.

Thanks for sticking with me through this one.
