Well hello there! It's been a while, but the store is back open! Let me start off by expressing my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your incredible patience and understanding while my store was temporarily closed. I know it wasn't easy, but I am thrilled to announce that I am finally caught up on my backlog, have made a few upgrades to the site, and ready to serve you better than ever before!
What Happened?
I never wanted to be one of those armourers who takes your money but takes forever to deliver. But as time went on, I was starting to do that, and it really bothered me. Not being able to keep up with demand is a good problem to have, but it's still a problem. So I made the difficult decision to close down to catch up on things. And with a clear backlog, I'm able to open the doors again.
Won't this just happen again?
Maybe, but not in the same way. I am going to to change my operating model from an "order and produce" model to a "stock and ship" model. This change will happen gradually, product by product. You will start to notice that some products have a stock amount listed. If that number reaches zero, you can't order it anymore. When that happens, you can add your name to a waitlist, and you'll get notified when I make more. Those reports will help me understand what products are most in demand, and what products I don't need to spend time on.
What about custom or bulk orders?
This "stock and ship" model doesn't work for everything. Some of my products are too custom for me to try to stock. For those items, they'll continue as they always have; with lead time constraints that increase with my queue.
